|BETH| Originally from an old established pioneer stock, Beth inherited her current house from her longdeceased parents. Born, raised and existing in the same place her entire life, throughout her home we see remnants of her family’s former glory, reflected in antique pieces of furniture, items of decor, and in paintings and photographs. The curtains are heavy and oppressive, which makes the house dark and dismal, stagnant and stifling. Even after she married and had a son, the house remained the same – while Beth became distrustful and insanely jealous of any woman who even looked at her husband. At the tragic moment of his untimely demise 20 years earlier, the clock stopped, forever frozen in time. Thereafter, Beth spiraled into a bizarre introspective and superstitious world, and slipped further into her twisted state of mind.

|HARRY| Harry is a loner, with limited social skills. He grew up sheltered with very few friends, and no girlfriends, his life completely dominated by his mother, with whom he lives. His only sanctuary is his studio, where he keeps his collection of cardboard boxes, and finds inspiration in them for his paintings. Harry lives for his art – the only thing that brings him escape from his dismal and
depressing life. Although he is talented, he doubts his abilities as an artist. He spends most of
his day alone, or in the company of his mother, stuck in an unchanging and oppressive environment.
His bedroom still looks the same as it did when he was a young man, with décor trapped
in time, and very much reflective of Beth’s world. This is not a healthy environment for anyone
to grow up in, let alone a sensitive young man with too much time on his hands, a lonely heart,
and a vivid imagination.

Lyne RENEE
|MARIE| Marie, Michael and their daughter Kiki, left Paris to forge a new life for themselves in New York. At first, they lived the good up¬scale lifestyle, until Michael lost his job. As a consequence the marriage rapidly disintegrated, and Michael became violent. Fearing for her life, Marie fled
with Kiki in the dark of night, and began a desperate trek west, trying to establish a new life
along the way. She eventually reached Carmen, South Dakota, and decided to settle in for a
short time, en route to Los Angeles. Although she has few possessions, style is Marie’s forte.
Wherever she goes, she brings that with her. Her European accent and stunning beauty make
her stand out, backed up by her sense of worldliness and classic elegance. Even though her
very presence commands attention, she remains modest and unassuming, somewhat unaware
of the impact of her flirtation and the sheer power of her sensuality.

|BURT| Back in high school, Burt was captain of the football team, and a favorite among classmates – especially those of the female persuasion. Although he had a steady girlfriend, Luz, he could never resista pretty face and sexy body. He did, however, resist being poured into the popularity mold, choosing instead to live a rebellious life on the edge. He took up riding a Harley, and roaming the desert in search of rattlesnakes, a pastime that he attempted to turn into a business. He married his high school sweetheart, not because he loved her, but because she loved him, and he knew she would be a faithful provider. This allowed him the freedom to be his own man, and he embraced the opportunity by seducing every young woman naïve enough to fall for his charm.
